General Info
The Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families, established in 2001, serves the families and children of Albany County in New York. The department provides an early intervention program, service coordination and comprehensive evaluation services to children with special health care needs. Its mental health clinic provides crisis evaluation, triage and ongoing treatment for children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. The department offers various recreation programs, such as tutoring, social education, community-oriented activities, weekly field trips, physical fitness activities, instructional basketball, gym and table games, weight lifting and ceramics. The Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families youth bureau plans, develops and funds a variety of programs and initiatives for youth under the age of 21.
