The New York State Crime Victims Board is a part of New York State. The board manages offices in Albany, Brooklyn and Buffalo. It provides compensation solutions for medical, funeral, crime scene cleanup and court transportation expenses. The New York State Crime Victims Board also advocates for the rights and benefits of victims. The board has a grants unit that funds direct services through a network of community-based programs. It administers and processes more than 200 contracts with victim assistance programs. In addition, the board offers assistance in obtaining emergency awards. The New York State Crime Victims Board facilitates communication and coordination with the federal, state and local governmental agencies.
