I have been boarding my dogs at Pinebush Kennels for the past 14 years. They are absolutely outstanding. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a place to kennel their dog. I am overprotective when it comes to my dog but I never worry about him when he's under their care. They are truly the best!

Always had a pleasant experience

We have been leaving our dogs at Pinebush Kennel for over 10 years and just picked up our current dog a few days ago. Our dogs have always been well cared for and the extras we have requested have been provided (bath, nails, playtime...). The family has always been helpful and polite.

We have been through dog training with 2 of our dogs in the past with good results.

I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect place for dog

I've been boarding my dog at Pinebush Kennels for close to 10 years. I travel at least 20 minutes to get there but it is well worth it. It is the only place I will leave my dog. I completely trust this family owned businees. They are incredibly friendly and accomodating and always welcome my dog. He is always happy to go there. I would recommend them to anyone.

Maestro's Wing

My dog Maestro ADORES everyone at Pinebush Kennels. He has been groomed and boarding there for 9 years. At the mere mention of the words "Dog Hotel" Maestro wags his tail and licks our faces. We then have to tell him.. "Tomorrow Mice.. Wait until tommorrow."

The staff there is friendly, knowledgable, and down to earth. We've shared many laughs and memories. They are my "doggie experts." I value their advice. It's hard to find caretakers for your pet that are so genuinely sincere. I could never imagine leaving my Micey anywhere else.

Because we travel a lot, both professionally and recreationally, Maestro spends a great deal of time at Pinebush. I often joke that he should have his own wing named in his honor. :D

Regardless of whether we travel overseas or downstate, for a weekend or 2-3 weeks, we are totally confident and comfortable with the combination of professionalism and family atmosphere at Pinebush Kennels. There are so many things to prepare, plan, and worry about when travelling. I'm just extremely grateful that my dog's care is not one of them.

Thank you Pinebush for being a second family to Maestro.

Doggy Hotel

We have been taking Pacey or Shepard Mix to Pinebush for 7 years. We toured a number of facilities and were very happy with the facilities and staff at Pinebush.

When we drop Pacey off he runs right over to the owners, wagging his tail and is excited to be there. We leave him there between 4-6 times per year for a weekend at a time.

The facility is "old" looking but how much beautification are you going to put into a place for dogs to run around in? I don't think Pacey cares how pretty the walls are....

Everyone is very friendly, and of course our dog sleeps when he gets home. He has been running around playing for 2 days. We recommend P.B. to all of our friends.

Perfect Place for Your Dog

I am very selective in the care of my dog. Pinebush Kennels is the perfect place to board your dog if you realize what a dog wants and needs. The ability to go outside, clean spacious runs, shelter, food, water, and the added feature of your dog being able to see the other dogs staying at the facility. They can bark till their hearts content and have a great time doing it.

This is not doggy daycare or a doggy hotel. There are no outfits, flowers, or doggy parades. It is a great dog kennel where dogs are treated well and given excellent care. I feel good knowing that my dog will be properly cared for by people who love dogs.

Happy with boarding

I am from NH and needed a kennel this past weekend for my dog Wyatt. I am new to the area and called for him to be boarded for 3 days. When I got there I was greeted right away. I filled out the required information and had his records sent from his kennel in NH right away. I was offered by the owner to see exactly the living conditions my dog would be in. Of course a kennel will have a smell of animals but I did not see ANYWHERE any urine or feces. The kennels were very clean and he had alot of room to roam. He had a choice of inside or being outdoors in the kennel area. There was so many animals for Wyatt to see each day and if it was not a good kennel then where did all these animals come from?? Apparently people find the kennel is very good if they would leave them there.

I picked Wyatt up this morning and before I left the owner took the time to clip his nails for me. When I got home I thought Wyatt would go straight for his water or food when he got here. Since he has been home for 5 hours now he has been sleeping. I have NEVER seen him sleep for so long. He has not even gone to get a sip of water or a bite of food. I was very surprised because Wyatt is very picky about the food he eats. I was very pleased with the kennel and will definitely use them again. Thank you for taking care of Wyatt.

Willy LOVES you all!!!!!!

Hong Kong Willy Wong our lovable black lab LOVES it here. He starts yelping when we are headed down rt 155 . . . the same way he does when he knows we are going to the dog park in Albany! They treat Willy like he is their own. He has sooo much fun while he is there. He sleeps all afternoon when he comes home. THANK YOU for providing a place for Willy where we don't have to worry about anything!!!

Boarding

I have been boarding my beagle at Pinebush Kennels since she was a puppy. She in now 8 years old. She has always come home happy and stress free which I cannot say for other facilites I have used. She willing walks into the kennel area and when I pick her up she is excited to see me me but I have never seen any trace of mistreatment that might cause her to shy away from the place. I recommend PK to anyone who asks. Since I moved from Colonie to East Greenbush about 6 years ago I still take my dog there for boarding. Traveling that distance says alot about what I think of the place and the staff.

PET PARADISE

Our aging canin has been staying at Pinebush Kennels regualry for the past four years. She LOVES it and is always anxious to go for a visit. She has stayed for a day to a week and has a great time.

Pinebush Kennels is a family business. Greg, his wife and sons make sure that each pet and pet owner is part of the family. They are kind, caring and attuned to their customer's needs. They are gracious and flexible...we cancelled our plans at the last minute or walked in because of an emergency and they have kindly accomodated us.

The facilities are always clean and welcoming. The space for each pet is considerable. They are well fed and well looked after during their stay.We have boarded our dog in a number of facilities in three states and Pinebush Kennels is the best by far.

We highly recommend them to any other pet owner.

Do NOT take your pet here!

I totally agree with the first reviewer. The owner showed up 5 minutes after the advertised open time. The place was dirty and smelled. Only half the lights functioned in the section where they kept my dog. It was damp almost all over with hoses lying down the rows of cages, and only a concrete floor, no bedding whatsoever. My dog came back dirty and totally exhausted for some reason. He ran to his water dish as soon as I brought him back home and drank the entire bowl. No way he had been watered. They didn't check to see if he had his shots and vaccinations which they stated on the website were required to board him. The didn't ask for any feeding instructions. I wrote them on the form I had to fill out and sent extra food and a measuring cup. I received empty food containers back so they either overfed him or did something with the extra. I sent an entire bag of biscuits that were not given back to me. I sent a bone and two toys that were never removed from the bag. They offered playtime and walks on the web page. No way they did either with him. Owner couldn't be bothered to get off the phone when I came to pick up my dog. Do not take your dog here! If you do visit first and make sure you ask to see where the animals are kept! Horrible!!!! I would give no stars but you have to pick at least one.

Dear Madam: We are sorry that your pet's first stay here was not satisfactory to you. We try to be here by 8:30.Please understand that first thng in the morning you can expect to notice an odor from the boarding dogs that have relieved themselves during the night. We use a lot of water here and hoses are placed where they will be convienant for cleaning personell.Water is also made available so dogs' can have fresh water all day long. Every dog that stays here will drink a lot when he returns home. They get so much excersize, running back and forth in their runs and playing with the other dogs that they are ALL tired when they come home and sleep all night. We have been open for 23 years and have customers that have been with us from the first week. Most of our boarding clients tell us that they wouldn't think of boarding there dogs anywhere else. They tell us that their pets LOVE it here and are bright and happy when they are picked up. Almost all of our new clients come here because they are referred by friends,co-workers,family members. We get a lot of referrals from area veterinarians,a couple of which have even boarded their own pets with us.Even other boarding kennels have referred their own customers to us when they are full up. We are in the process of replacing all of the kennel lights.we are about half finished. We try to give our customers our attention when they call to make reservations by telephone.I'm sure you were given the attention you deserved when phonecall was completed. Respectfully yours, Greg Miller-owner

No stars! Big Mistake. Had a bad feeling from the start. This site made me give them at least one star to rate them. Their website looks professional and sounds great, HOWEVER, we did not find this to be the case. Heavy urine smell was prominent when entering facility. The 1 person I spoke with on the phone seemed to be the only person minding the place. Seemed professional on the phone, but not in person. The actual area (kennel) the dogs stay in is a large room with individual kennels all lined up next to one another. The dogs sleep on a cement floor unless you bring your own blanket/pillow for them. ALL the dogs are barking at one another, so you can imagine the noise level. It seemed like a prison. We did not care for the demeanor of the individual we had to deal with at this kennel. Our dog ended up with a mouth infection from this place. Our dog also had a small patch of dried feces on his chest when we picked him up. Lesson learned, "trust your instincts".
