The gentleman behind the desk was extremely rude and condescending today when I brought my shoes in for repair. When I asked if the service could be completed sooner than his original estimate he snapped that his employees were behind in their work. That certainly gave me the incentive to take my business to other cobblers in Alexandria who are more polite, less expensive and can do it quicker.

General Info

The Steube family has owned Alexandria Shoe Repair since 1896. It is the oldest continually operated shoe repair business in the state of Virginia. They are well known for the finest materials and workmanship. In a display case you will see the original hammers used by Great Grandfather Steube one hundred years ago, and some of the shoes he worked on. We specialize in shoe, luggage, and all leather goods in repairing and conditioning. We also specialize in conditioning all orthopedic shoes.
