Attorney Sonne was awarded a Juris Doctor Degree from Temple University School of Law in 1981, upon successful completion of two internships with the Lehigh County Public Defender's Office¿. In 1981, Attorney Sonne was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. She was admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District in 1982 and the United States Supreme Court in 1986. Following graduation, she was employed as a judicial law clerk for the late Honorable David E. Mellenberg.Prior to attending law school, she graduated with honors from Penn State in 1973¿. She received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Social Welfare¿. Between college and law school, she was employed as a social worker for Lehigh Valley Child Care and the Lehigh County Area Agency on Aging. Attorney Sonne¿ is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Lehigh County Bar Association and Lehigh County Family Law Section. She served as an officer of the Family Law Section for several years and is a past president.¿Attorney Sonne established her private practice in 1982 and has limited her practice to Family and Matrimonial Law for 25 years. She has served as a court-appointed Master in Divorce in conflict cases and as a special appointment Domestic Relations Conference Officer. She has been court-appointed as counsel representing children as a Guardian Ad Litem as well as parents in juvenile dependency matters.Attorney Sonne has also successfully argued before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, in the case of Blue v. Blue.Attorney Sonne has served as an officer and member of the Penn State Schuylkill Alumni Society and was a member of the Catasauqua Zoning Board. In 1984-1985, she was listed in the Who's Who of American Women.Attorney Sonne currently serves as court-appointed counsel in Lehigh County for defendants in support matters.
