I was so dissapointed in the Alaska Zoo. I had been watching the polar bears for several months before our trip on their live web cam. When we arrived at the zoo we found nothing but cages for the animals. In most there was a solitary animal. It just seemed way to old fashioned a zoo. It's a zoo from the past when they put everything in cages. I really didn't even know they still had them out there. I was just totally disappointed. It's not that large of a zoo, either. With all the tourists they get, you'd think they would update better.
