Government Hill Elementary School offers a range of academic programs to more than 425 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school provides classes in art, music and physical education. It organizes various sports activities, such as cross-country, skiing, basketball and soccer. The school operates the Title 1 program. Government Hill Elementary School is a part of the Anchorage School District, which also governs nearly 15 middle and high schools. The Anchorage School District additionally maintains several vocational and charter schools. The district serves approximately 50,000 students. Its schools offer lessons in language arts, math, science, English and social studies.
