This Bally's location is horrible! Yes, it is cheaper than 24 hour fitness, but you will have to deal with broken equipment, rude and nonexistent staff and a dirty environment. I have been going to this location for a few months now and the scale in the ladies locker room has never worked, the lap clock in the pool area has never worked and the hot tub has various organisms living in it. The staff are always in a room off the gym just chatting it up as if there were not working. You can never get help with anything and I wasn't offered any type of tour when I signed up for my membership. (I should have turned around then.) If you want to alter your membership package in any way, (even if you want a more expensive package) you have to call a 1-800 number and stay on hold for at least 45 minutes. And I can't forget the $30 charge they impose. (After one of the staff members told me that adding the childcare package would be no big deal.) Most times that I have called this customer service line, it tells me there are too many customers holding on the line, and it disconnects the call. Talk about customer service! So, the staff have absolutely no way to change or cancel your membership. They are pretty much just paid to socialize with each other. The machines are not cleaned at night, neither are the locker rooms. Don't go here!!!

So I've been a member of 24hr ...

So I've been a member of 24hr fitness and was okay with that besides some cleaning/space issues. I wanted a fresh start so i went for a trial @ bally.

I didn't receive a tour in the beginning and was left to my own devices, although he was friendly.

The second night I went to work out for the last hour they where open (closed @11) and was bombarded by constant interruptions reminding me the gym was closing. It went from every 15 min(an hour til closing), to every ten min, to every five min ( 20 min before they closed!) The person running the place had obvious friends waiting with him, and they all seemed annoyed that I had dare work out the last hour of opening. Us two where the only ones left in the gym(besides his friends waiting)- He could have come talked to us (Knowing we were new) and said ,'' hey you need to be out by 10:50, 10:55 ''or whatever, instead they blasted over the microphone system over and over again. I'm human, i'm approachable! If you work out you know 5 minutes of working out can be huge, I was just trying to get my time in before they closed. Reasonable, no?

It made my spouse so uncomfortable ( and hes a guy okay he isn't bothered by much) he waited around for me to finish, to hurry up and get out of there. I felt like I was intruding on their space! As we left they all stared at us and It was awkward to say the least. Weird right?

So I decided to get an apex pass and I sent them an email.

This is what I got back. Wait for it...

Hello N,

First off I would like to apologize that you didn't have the best experience possible. You are absolutely correct, you should have received a tour the minute you walked into the club! However, our closing staff have been trained by policy to give members a friendly reminder of when the club is closing. Unfortunately, we are pretty stricked as far as sticking to these set rules because of the fact it is against our Insurance Policy and Law to have any members inside the club after 11pm, Monday through Thursday, 9pm on Fridays, and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Best of Luck to you!

Operations Manager

They were not friendly, welcoming and it was rude. I let her know that and she didn't give a sh*t.

I told her that if I was suppose to be out at 10:50, let me know I'll be out- but state that to me beforehand!

You choose , but to me this is sloppy management at its best. It seems like a good ole boys club, lots of guys running the place who I'm sure have a coworker/friendship. Did I think they would be apologetic at at least try to save business? No . I wanted to see their response so I could post it here, and I told em so.. AND yes they spelled it ''stricked'' . So here we have some real geniuses running the show here at your local bally.

The hot tub was not running any nights I visited and was empty and I was warned that the pool was freezing and not to swim unless I liked it cold.
