It focuses on single-family, nonconforming mortgage loans, involving borrowers whose loan size, credit details or other circumstances fall outside conventional agency mortgage loan guidelines. The company originates loans nationwide through NovaStar affiliated mortgage brokers, independent brokers and direct contacts with borrowers, in addition to account maintenance, title and settlement services. NovaStar maintains its corporate headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., and wholesale and retail loan origination groups in Santa Ana, Calif.; Cleveland; Flint, Mich.; and Baltimore.
