Very disappointed. Rushed through specials reluctantly read by waiter. Ordered dinners and maybe a minute later called waiter over to add soup because we never had time to think or order appetizer.He seemed put out and flustered and said "you want it now? then "BUT" and never finished and walked away. Came back crabby looking with soups and said "I have to tell you they will only hold your meal 3 minutes" with bad attitude. We said "Oh we will hurry and be done in 3 minutes" He came and put dinners on table and took soup bowls with same "I told you so attitude" Do we want dessert? I don't think so and will never return. Food was good but too rushed and only 4 other diners in there. Thanks

Had dinner at this new restaurant and found the food pretty quick, pretty hot and nicely priced. well presented and tasty. But I must agree with many of the other reviewers whole heartly-- the help leaves a lot to be desired. slow and not very interested in us or our table. Please have them come by often especially when it comes to drink orders. their interest in us lets us relax and enjoy our meal even more. We'll be back

We had the pleasure of dining at Canovas today. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food delicious. I had the Chicken Frances and my husband had the Chicken Rossini,, both were delicious and very large portions. Our waitress was adorable, very attentive with a cute personality. The lemon desert was decadent! We dine at all the Italian places on Federal Hill and this was as good, and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be going back.

Came to this restaurant with great expectations! Very disappointing. Took a while for the waitress to even come to the table for our drink order, so we ordered our food at the same time. Asked for the calamari to be served before the entre. It was delivered, and not two minutes later the entres were delivered. My husband said that the calamari was not the best he's had. He ordered chicken parm and I ordered pollo rossini. We were surprised that there was no flavor to the sauce. Very bland. And my chicken tasted like it wasn't cooked through. The entire time we were there I got the impression that all the staff wanted was to bring the patrons in and get them out as quickly as possible. If we go back, we're just going for the pizza or burgers. Very disappointing considering the family that owns it.

Our first trip to the newest Canova enterprise. Having been to three other of his restaurants and always having a great meal, we were hopeful it would maybe be our new "go-to" casual place, as we live only a couple of miles away. We weren't disappointed, but we were'nt overly impressed either. Nice renovation, will all the Canova touches, We got there early (5 pm on Sat). Service (Frank) was just okay, but adequate. Food was good and presented nicely and hot.The clams in my Pasta Vongolla were fresh and delicious. My wife had veal parm and enjoyed it, with plenty to take home for another meal. Looking at the menu, my idea was it might be a much better lunch spot. The place was packed by 6:00 and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Overall, a good meal. We'll definitely go back soon. After all, all new places need a little time to hit their stride. The hand thrown pizzas going by our table really looked great. Even Frank may even learn to smile and act like he wants to be there!

Good but no reservations Too bad

I dined at Conava's last night with my friends and it was great! The veal parm was the best I have had. My waiter was entertaining as well as professional I will be back.

We just spoke to our nephew and he said exactly the same things as the 1st reviewer said. Food was excellent, waitstaff needs to be taught more. We will, however, look forward to going there. The 3 star rating is just the overall dcor and food excellence.

.GRAND OPENING DAY. MY WIFE AND I WENT ABOUT 730 THE PLACE WAS BEAUTIFULY APPOINTED WITH A PLEASING SET UP AND BAR. GREETED RIGHT AWAY BY THE HOST AND SEATED WITH A SMILE. VERY PROFESSIONAL POLITE AND GAVE HIS NAME. AFTER ALL WAS SAID AND DONE I WISH HE HAD BEEN THE WAITER. WHEN HE WALKED AWAY EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE FOOD WENT DOWNHILL. THE SERVICE WAS APPALING BECAUSE OF THE WAITER AND IT WONT BE TO HARD TO FIGURE WHO IT WAS CUZ HE WAS THE ONLY MALE SERVING. HE DID NOT WANT TO BE THERE! HE IGNORED US--WE HAD TO CALL HIM 6 TIMES- NEVER OFFERED ANY SUGGESTING. 20 MIN TO GET OUR DRINKS. HE SAID NEW PLACE- THE BAR STAFF DOSNT KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE DRINKS. NO BREAD AT TABLE WHICH HE ALSO BLAMED ON OTHERS. MY WIFE GOT THE WRONG MEAL. WHICH WAS QUICKLY CORRECTED, NOT BY THE WAITER. OVERALL THE FOOD WAS GREAT VERY QUICK AND HOT. THE WAITER WAS NOT. HE MADE THE NIGHT A BAD EXPERIENCE FOR A NEW EATERY HOWEVER WE WILL COME BACK AGAIN AND BY THEN ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINED HE'LL BE GONE
