Went to French Market Grille in Surrey Center for a rehearsal dinner on October 21. The night was absolutely beautiful but the food and service weren't exactly what I was expecting.... My boyfriend's parents are from the area and frequent this restaurant- so I had heard great things.

The restaurant was dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We sat in room with a very long window so we could see outside which was nice. This room was a little chilly but the staff was kind enough to turn the air down for us.

I ordered the fried shrimp from a pre-selected menu and the peanut butter pie. The fried shrimp were tiny and the breading was a little salty for me. The peanut butter pie was actually very good. My friend ordered the tenderloin and it cut like butter- in hindsight, I wish I had ordered that. I just wanted to get seafood since it is a well known cajun restaurant....

Overall, I wish I had the opportunity to try other things on the menu. Will definitely have to give it another shot next time we are in town!

The service was great ans the food was excellent. It's a legend in Augusta.
