Established in 1949, the Texas Real Estate Commission is the state's regulatory agency for real estate brokers, salespersons and inspectors, education providers for real estate and inspection courses, residential service companies and timeshare developers. The commission administers license, company and timeshare acts. It provides administrative support to the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. The Texas Real Estate Commission operates a licensing services division that is comprised of education, communication and licensing sections. The commission additionally operates a staff services division that provides accounting, budget, purchasing, quick copy and other support services for the agency. In addition, it maintains an enforcement division that answers consumer and licensee questions concerning the commission s procedures and license act and rules. The Texas Real Estate Commission operates a technology services division and maintains a location in Austin, Texas.
