General Info

Founded in 1979, Camp Shoresh is a coeducational year-round Jewish education youth program with a special six-week summer camp program. Its program includes teen and adult education programs, and aims to build positive Jewish identity among children and their families, primarily in Frederick and surrounding communities in Maryland. The camp offers a variety of educational, recreational and experiential opportunities. Its academic programs include tutorials in Hebrew language at beginner and intermediate levels and Torah education. Its religious activities include Rosh Hashana, Sukkot and Chanukah parties, and Purim carnival and bash. The camp s recreational activities include family barbecues and picnics and monthly get-togethers. It additionally provides financial aid on an individual basis and parents receiving scholarship assistance volunteer for fundraisers and assist with camp activities. Its parent volunteers coordinate many vital aspects, including camp lunches, semimonthly bingo fundraisers and daily kitchen management. Camp Shoresh is located in Baltimore.
