Southwest Baltimore Charter School's ( SBCS ) mission is to empower each student to achieve authentic academic succes by harnessing the kindness, cooperation, and trust of faculty, family and community. We strive to develop eager learners and critical thinkers who are committed to personal success and the success of their communities. With a focus on developing social and human capital in our classrooms and in our broader neighborhood, SBCS will prepare students to compete, succeed and contribute as young adults.SBCS seeks to fulfill the mission of American public education to provide each American child with the skills necessary to live fulfilling, productive lives. Through engaging and rigorous curriculum, SBCS will raise up students' aspirations and their abilities to attain them. We believe that academic success in the classroom is integrally linked to life and opportunities outside the classroom.
