      The Louisiana Department of Insurance maintains a public affairs division that accepts various media calls and public information requests, as well as schedules televiion, radio and print interviews with the department employees. The division also coordinates public speaking engagements by the department experts. The department also has an office of property and casualty that consolidates the regulation of state and federal requirements applicable to commercial and personal lines of property and casualty insurance. The Louisiana Department of Insurance s division of legal services assists other departmental offices in the interpretation and application of the Louisiana Insurance Code, prepares pleadings and makes court appearances in matters involving the department. It is located in Baton Rouge, La.
