I absolutely DO NOT recommend thi interpreting service. As a career NY attorney practicing litigation, I have conducted hundreds of depositions A number of these proceedings required the use of foreign language interpreting services. The experience I had with one of the Spanish Language interpreters from this company, known as “LIS,” was astoundingly inexcusable. The employee this company assigned to perform the language interpretation at a recent legal proceeding -- a “Mr. H. Morales” – exhibited conduct so reeking in unprofessionalism, lack of ethics, obstructiveness, overt partiality and plain hostility that it was unparalleled with any conduct I have seen in the nearly twenty years of my legal practice. The conduct, which included antiemetic references, threating body posturing, shouting at female counsel on the record in the presence of clients and co-counsel, and a slew of other unethical, if not tortious behavior or worse, was reprehensible. Whether through negligence in hiring or otherwise, failure to conduct proper review or background check, intention or indifference, this company necessarily shares responsibility with this individual for conduct that can only be described as egregious.
