P.S. 139 Alexine A. Fenty is an empowerment school managed by The New York City Department of Education. It has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students in prekindergarten through grade five. The school offers a range of academic programs and draws students from over 10 countries in the world. It also provides gifted and talented and balanced literacy programs for all grades. The school additionally operates an inclusion program to support students with special needs. Its reading recovery program is available for at-risk first graders.
