Doctor Hyzy is Board Certified and fellowship trained in Interventional Orthopedics. He is published in the use of Autologous Orthobiologics including platelet derived growth factors and mesenchymal stem cells for orthopedic and spinal conditions. Dr. Hyzy is a Chicago native but moved to Florida in his youth and started his pursuit of medical training. Dr. Hyzy completed residency training at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (P.M.R./Physiatry). There, he served as Chief resident and garnered numerous clinical experiences in Physiatry, Surgical and Non-Surgical Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Interventional Physiatry, Pain Management, Interventional Spine and Regenerative Medicine; which fueled his desire to pursue more training in Interventional Orthopedics and Regenerative Medicine. He was subsequently honored to be chosen as a fellow in Interventional Orthopedics at The Centeno Schultz Clinic. Dr. Hyzy’s previous role as a personal fitness instructor, an Osteopathic Physician, and a Physiatrist have all aligned in a holistic approach to the treatment of patients with pain, impairments, and dysfunction. He uses these experiences to optimize function and decrease pain with biomechanical evaluation, procedural interventions including diagnostic/interventional ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided procedures. Dr. Hyzy continues to promote the field in patient outcomes and research as well as providing clinical training for other physicians while serving as a clinical instructor for the Interventional Orthopedics Foundation. Dr Hyzy has served on numerous organized medicine associations, provided medical coverage for the annual Austin Marathon and provided pre-participation athletic physicals as a resident physician.
