This company has made our move a living hell. Have moved several times before with other companies and had no issues. Cook refused to take responsibility for damages, include rodent chew holes in our plastic bins. When we questioned them they paid a "3rd party cargo claims settlement company" to generate a report saying they weren't responsible. The company who made the report for them had a blank website and was registered to a residence in Arizona. Overall this company lacks integrity and will does not conduct business in an ethical manner.

If you're thinking of using Cook, I would recommend that you save yourself time, money and frustration by just throwing all your belongings in the trash.

We paid for disassembly and moving of furniture, as well as disconnecting and moving appliances. (Pay careful attention to their inventory sheet, they'll mark brand new, unopened items as "dented, soiled, scratched, etc).

After the move we had thousands in damages. Cook delayed and delayed, and we had to constantly keep calling and emailing to get any response. They finally sent a letter saying they would pay couple hundred dollars and said we were settled. They refused to cover damaged appliances, saying they were not responsible for the appliances no longer working after the move.

I've moved multiple times across the country. This was, by far, the worst moving company I have ever encountered.

UPDATE: After several complaints they forwarded our paperwork to an "independent cargo claim settlement company" (which happens to have a blank website and no registration on record I could find). This company somehow assessed the damage without every seeing anything, and claimed several damaged items where "questionable" because we didn't report them on the day of delivery. (Cook Moving themselves told us we had 90 days to inventory damage and submit our claim.) They only thing I find questionable is this company's reputation.

This entire fiasco still boggles my mind. How a company can claim they aren't responsible for accepting working appliances and delivering them broken is insane. They even claim that they weren't responsible for the plastic bins that had rat/mouse chew holes going through them.

Final warning: Don't trust the reviews on their website, they are heavily censored.

Still trying to get them to cover the basic items the broke. They literally had a company with a non-functional website working from a home in Arizona to provide a "report" saying they weren't responsible for the damages.

I just had this moving company move me to my new house this past Saturday. I must say that the Chris Eggleston crew was fantastic. They were friendly, professional and so helpful in placing the furniture. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

On the day of the move, the gu...

On the day of the move, the guys showed up an HOUR LATE. They were nice enough, but they were slow. as. hell. They charged by the hour, so my cynical/probably correct side thinks that the dawdling was intentional. I mean, they painstakingly wrapped a crappy fiberboard cabinet in 5 layers of plastic. I moved boxes myself, and a petite 32 year-old woman hefting a bin of canned goods should not be lapping a “professional” mover carrying ONE solitary kitchen chair (they seriously carried each chair one by one – even I can safely carry two chairs at a time). I’ve used movers several times before, and never had it go so slowly, even when moving into a 3rd floor walk-up with a cramped spiral staircase.

Nothing got broken or chipped.… but that’s kind of the point of hiring professional movers: they carefully and QUICKLY move your stuff without breaking it. We only hired them to move the furniture, not our boxes. It should not have taken 7 hours (yes, 7) for what was contained in our apartment. In the end, the $92/hour was NOT worth it.

When I contacted them about this, I was told that since I wasn’t actually *charged* for the hour they were late, that they didn’t consider it a problem, and it was our fault the job took so long because we asked them to put some of our things in the attic.

I called once and got an estimate over the phone. When the date was set, I called to firm up dates with the same person. She was not in, so I left a message. Two weeks later I still had not received a return phone call. I called again and was told to leave another message for her. It is now another two weeks later and no follow up. I guess they do not need any business... If this is how they are, I do not want them moving my belongings! I want to give them no stars, but this site won't let me.

Awful experience...strongly do NOT recommend. This company lost 5 of our boxes and would not reimburse us for any of the items lost- they admitted that it was possible they may have brought the boxes to another client's storage place by accident but because we had the minimal insurance they would only remiburse us 6 (six) dollars / box. We thought this was a joke. They also had underaged kids moving our boxes (12 year old boys who were repaying a "debt" to the head mover). Very unprofessional operation. And the most frustrating part of all of this was once we finally got the owner of the company on the phone, all of our complaints fell on deaf ears. You would be better off going with another company.

Excellent Service from Start to Finish

We recently made a move into a very rural area. Cook Moving had all the right equipment to make the move smooth and our household goods were perfect.
