Better than going to the post office, kind friendly and fast service with individual attention. I dont know why anyone in the grassfield area would ever go anywhere else to ship.

I have always had a pleasant experience when going there and I have found their staff to be quite helpful, especially when my mother needs a hand shipping things to her niece and nephew.

This is also the closest and most convenient location to ship from for me and it means not having to deal with all the bloody lines at the post office. I don't know about you folks, but I invariably end up in one with two, maybe three tellers and usually at -least- one of them is tied up with some idiot who is arguing with the clerk over something and is there the ENTIRE time I'm waiting in line (Or else someone is standing at a counter and the clerk is M.I.A for an eon).

I'm also in the process of unloading a small, but generous collection of collectible plates. Most people don't really seem to realize, but even if you get insurance on a fragile item, you have to have (at least) TWO INCHES of packing material ALL THE WAY AROUND. Front. Back. Top. Bottom. Left side. Right side. If you do not and your item breaks, your carrier will give you the raspberry and DENY your claim. I know most collectors would rather you use a bigger box, more peanuts and pay a couple bucks more in order to get their item whole and intact. It's the reason I usually do my packing myself, as having ANYONE else pack them can get pricey fast. But when I'm not -selling- things and looking at the bottom line, the convenience of the option is awfully nice.

I have had only pleasant experiences at this Mailwerx! : ) John and Diane serve their customers in a friendly, professional manner and do their best to pack and ship all packages in the least costly manner. Their store stocks a variety shipping envelopes, boxes and supplies to ensure the right material is on hand to do the job! They are conveniently located, offer a number of other services besides packing/shipping and truly an asset to the community.

"If i could rate them a zero s...

"If i could rate them a zero star I would, the one star is giving to much credit." - I couldn't say it better myself. The exact scenario the other review described is about what happened at my first and only experience there.

I went in needing a box for a 9 1/4" plate to ship. John recommended a box that was too big for the plate but said I could cut it down to the right size and suggested bubble wrap. I asked about a smaller (and cheaper) box on display and he said they "probably don't have it" as I walked out the door to get the plate from my car. I came back, expecting he would have looked to make sure, but he didn't say anything about it and had started folding the too-large box. I realize, at this point, I should have asked to see if, in fact, they didn't have the other size, so I take credit for that much.. but one point deduction on customer service skills.

He said he would cut it down to size and wrap the plate in bubble wrap if I liked. The box was $2.40 (ish?) and by the time he was done, my total came out to almost $7, and he had sealed it up, which I didn't expect. That is more than the cost to send the package. I made a joke about getting the other half of the box that was still full price despite having half cut off. That didn't go over well. Then I asked to remove the $4 worth of packing peanuts and bubble wrap because I have a roll of it at home, and the whole roll didn't cost me $4. I just thought it might be an extra dollar or so for him to do it and I wouldn't have to worry about it.

The older woman said "but we've all ready packaged it" and I replied that I was not informed of how much that was going to cost me and apologized for the inconvenience, but I just thought that was too much to pay. John began a bit of what I would call a temper-tantrum, (slumped shoulders, exasperated breath sounds, exaggeration of the matter at hand, etc.) complaining that he was just going to have to throw it all away because he couldn't resell the materials. I explained I still wanted my full-priced, cut-in-half custom made box, but not the peanuts and bubble wrap. Neither of them would look at me or say another word the rest of the time it took to get the transaction complete, they just acted mad. I would love to know who would look at bubble wrap and packing peanuts in their box and freak out because they appeared "used"... and I wanted to say this, but because the kid was there, I did bite my tongue. I even thanked the lady when I left, and still no response.

I am sorry on my part of any mis-communication that led to the packing peanut tragedy, but that was ridiculous. Very rude, terrible customer service... and I am not one bit surprised to see him use his son against the other customer review. But you, sir, are infuriating and should find work as a bus driver for a preschool, so you can be cranky and surrounded with others of the same maturity level.

P.S. I was really suspicious about a place named "Mail Werx" and now those suspicions have been confirmed.

It has been about 2 months apparently since you visit to our store. You had brought in a plate to be shipped. In selecting a box, I chose a 12x12x8 box, because the length and width was perfect allowing necessary room to put in packaging material to keep the plate protected. The height was too tall, but I did cut the box down for you for a better fit, and then I explained that one of the services that we offer is packaging; that we would package your plate for you. You certainly have the option to package your own items, taking the gamble that it won’t get broken in transit. I specifically asked you if you wanted me to package your plate for you. You told me that yes, and handed me the plate. If you truly did not want me to package your plate, but just wanted to take the box and package it yourself, you certainly did not indicate that to me at any time, otherwise I would have gladly given the plate back. And at no time while I took the time and the labor to package your item did you seem to care about the potential cost of packaging as the question never was asked. You mentioned that the overall cost of the packaging service provided to you that you were not happy with was around $7, which sounds about right. You inquired about a possible smaller, cheaper box to use instead. We simply did not have one, especially to be able to protect the plate inside. If you did not agree with how we packaged your item, I’m sorry, and you certainly had the option to package it yourself if you didn’t trust our professional opinion, but when it comes to fragile items, we take great pride in assuring that they are packaged securely so it is not broken in transit when it is mailed or shipped. Though the packaging peanuts used could be reused again, it was a terrible waste to have to discard the bubble wrap used to package your item, but once the bubble wrap has been cut, wrapped around the item and taped to ensure that it’s secure, it just simply cannot be reused, especially when you have to cut away at it into pieces to take the original item back out. Because of your disapproval, it is unfortunate that you needed to resort to directing such insulting remarks and names at me. But in a retail business, I know it happens and I don’t take it personally. I’m confused to your statement about being “suspicious” about a place named Mail Werx? Mail Werx is NOT the US Post Office, UPS, or FedEx; nor do we claim to be. But offering their services, people just assume we are. We are a local, family-owned mail & parcel store and an authorized shipper for the above mentioned shipping carriers. That means that we have written agreements with each of the carriers to be able to provide their services. Like all mail & parcel stores (for example, The UPS Store, FedEx Office, Mail Box Etc., EZ Pak, Pak-Mail, and so forth), we are a retail business. That means that you will pay a retail markup than if you go directly to the US Post Office, or a UPS or FedEx terminal to ship a package. Just because we’re able to offer their services, doesn’t mean that we get a discount on the rates of shipping. We have to pay the same amount of postage as the average person would if going directly to one of their counters. So as a business, a retail markup has to be charged otherwise you would be offering the service for free. The same is true for boxes and packaging materials. We can’t charge the same price as it costs us to purchase it otherwise we would be giving it away for free and that is not how businesses operate. I’m sure you can understand that. If not, I’m sorry. I understand that you will never come back to our store again and that certainly is your choice. I just hope that in the future you are able to show more understanding to other retailers you may frequent in the future.

The customer service here is terrible. I made a mistake in making copies on the wrong side of the paper and was charged for 5 copies that didn't print. The older lady who works there was nice and said don't worry about it, the other person a man who I believe is her son, was extremely rude. He said "you made the mistake you pay for it". So I kindly took my copies and my mail, gave him a few choice words and left. I did leave him $1.00 bill because he clearly needs the $.75 to maintain the business. I will never never use this location again for any of my mail, copy or notary needs. They are very rude and have no customer service skills at all. If i could rate them a zero star I would, the one star is giving to much credit.

I'm sorry that your experience here at our store wasn't a more pleasurable one. After having made several copy mistakes, our staff was merely trying to inform you of the copy policy and the signage that hangs over the copier explaining that if any assistance was needed in making any copies to just ask. We would have been more than happy to assist you in making any copies you needed. I'm sorry that you did not agree with our copy policy. I'm also sorry that my 9-year-old son had to witness the irate manner in which you disagreed with our copy policy. He was left quite upset and almost crying by all the things that you had said.
