I see therapy as a collaborative process that is founded on the individual’s strengths and goals. I bring my knowledge and training into the room, just as the clients brings their life experiences with them. As I often say – you are the expert on your own life. I strive to assist clients with recognizing maladaptive patterns, developing healthy coping skills, and living fulfilling and balanced lives. As a counselor, I utilize an integrative and client-centered approach and incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral skills and exercises into sessions. I admire the courage it takes for someone to ask for help, and I maintain a nonjudgmental outlook on each person I speak with. Therapy can be a highly rewarding journey, and I enjoy bearing witness to and being a part of each person’s growth. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology at Santa Clara University in California, and then proceeded to earn my Masters in Counseling at Adler University in Chicago. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings with diverse populations of people. I have been a counselor at the Cook County Jail, inpatient facilities, and nonprofit mental health organizations. I have worked with teens and adults from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. I now look forward to working alongside those who seek counseling through Portrait Health Centers.
