The store manager was so helpful she helped me send a package to my grandson overseas and I’m so grateful

To insure an item that was $1700 in value and was 3' X 8" X 6" and weighed 35lbs they told me they had to pack it. I complied and the total cost was over $200. I had to have it there within a week so the cheapest rate was 3-5 business days and it was $200. I bit the bullet and paid it. Going through records I saw that less than a year ago I shipped a much larger item in dimension and weight and fully insured for $3000 at a different UPS store and it cost me $75 which included having them pack it. I learned this store is not technically part of UPS, they are independently owned, and when I went to the actual UPS facility and had them calculate the cost, they told me the total cost with insurance was $78 so that means this store pocketed $122 to pack this item which they said was the only way to fully insure it. This was totally my fault for not being more dilligent in checking past invoices so lesson learned but I would avoid this place at all costs. They also told me the item would go out that day but it took 2 days for it to leave the store and the reasoning was they were out of packing material, which I was charged $122 for plus the labor to pack what originally took me less than 30 minutes to sufficiently pack and unpack since they said the only way to fully insure was for them to pack it.
