Loved this place when we lived here. Now we come from Texas and make sure we stop in to visit and shop.. Just found a few new gems..

I found this bookstore just driving by it, turned around and went in and was very happy I did. I've been going here for about a year now and introduced my girlfriend to it and she gets fair trade on anything she brings in that they can use. There are so many books it's unbelievable! I enjoy trying to find first editions on older books and everything that I've found is in great condition and the price is right. Another plus is the free coffee. Yes Free. They also have some pretty nice greeting cards that you won't find anywhere else. I find the staff very knowledgeable and very helpful. There are some new releases which are best sellers that are about a buck less than you'd find at Barnes. This is the best little independent bookstore here in the Springs. Highly Recommended!

Don't judge this book by the cover. (Sorry, I had to.) Hooked on Books is an excellent, if disastrous-looking, used bookstore. I've wandered around for hours in there. I've walked in with a list of five books and walked right back out with three of them most of the time. That's a success rate far better than what I've come to expect from other used bookstores in town. The shelves are not filled with books that have sat untouched for years; this place is pretty selective and current in the books it sells. The selection of new books seems to be growing, and authors are starting to turn up for signings. The staff is the kind that will graciously leave you to do your thing, then magically appear when you need them. This is a good thing, because you probably will need them. There are an awful lot of books in there, so bring a little extra patience. Prices vary pretty widely, depending on the title and condition of the book, but all are reasonable compared to other local bookstores.

I have been in this location twice and both times I've been met with horribly, nasty employees. The first time, I asked about a book title and was met with a sigh, rolling eyes, and a huff because the woman behind the counter was much too busy to help me since she had a signing later in the morning. I shrugged it off and thought okay, she's stressed. Well, today I stopped by and another woman told me she had no idea what books they have on the shelf, but they're alphabetized and walked away. What this boils down to is this: If you don't have the time to help me find something in your store or you don't want to be bothered with helping me, then I don't have time and don't want to be bothered with spending money in your store. I will shop your competition because they are bending over backwards to get my time and my money.

I've been going to this store since it opened. Will always go to this store I just love. The staff is friendly and helpful when you need it. The owner is great and friendly to everyone

Great Bookstore!! Found a lot of my mystery books here. Neatly organized! We travel and I tried to stop at bookstores, so I can fill in with the ones I need.

Now that I have moved to Oklahoma, I realize what a great place to shop and order books. Hooked on Books provided a great selection and was very good to help locate and order what they didn't have in stock. I really miss the wonderful place to shop....
