Provided by DexKnowsA friend raved about this placed and couldn't wait to show it off. I was also excited to try the place, and drove a long way to meet my small group for lunch. I arrived to discover a dirty, stuffy, and cramped room. When the waitress wiped tables, I noted she wasn't even moving the condiments and wiping under them, leaving their little mess - euwe. When I got in line to order, the staff was rude and smug. with a handsome menu, the food sound wonderful, but is overpriced, so don't expect to actually get what you pay for. My pumpkin tomato soup was tepid and needed rewarming - twice! The soup was not that tasty and it was watery. The stuffed squash looked yummy, but was dry and tasteless; I actually had to pour a bit of honey on it to give it any flavor. The dessert - lemon cake looked wonderful, but was dry and had little flavor. When the server took my cup of coffee to get me a new fresh cup, he only topped it off, leaving me with cold coffee in my cup. Awful, just awful. This was my first visit and will be my last. For a place that spouts about its homemade goodies and wonderful atmosphere, it just wasn't that great. The ladies who joined me for lunch did not do much better than I in the quality of their food either - we all bought different items to share - theiy could tell a similar story about dry tasteless food. We left agreeing we would never bother to go back to that little dumpy place called Montague's Parlour. Disappointing at Best.

Provided by DexKnowsThe breakfast is healthy, and delicious! The desserts are great. Atmosphere cannot be beat. Cozy, down home type place with friendly people and an occasional run in with the city mayor!

Provided by DexKnowsIt's a place that is unique in itself. Like something you might find in a Sherlock Holmes novel. A bit quriky and very warm and inviting. A place you can feel comfortable even if alone. Perfect for a cup of tea/coffee and a good book. The food and service are equally delightful!
