Columbus Museum of Art houses large collection of late 19th and early 20th century American and European modern art. The museum s collection includes major works by Monet, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Hopper and O'Keeffe, representing impressionism, German expressionism, and cubism. It also offers a full range of regional collections and public collections of woodcarvings by Columbus folk artist Elijah Pierce. The museum offers a range of paintings and lithographs by George Bellows. The museum also hosts a continuous program of national and international traveling exhibitions that include Greater Columbus Arts Council's award for artistic excellence and Visions of the American Heartland.
