- Franklin County Dog Shelter, located in Columbus, Ohio, is an organization that provides shelter services for dogs. It offers more than 250 dogs and puppies of various breeds for adoption daily. The center offers safety and care programs for dogs to provide enforcement of applicable dog laws to reduce the risk of animal-related health and safety dangers and offers services, such as dog impoundments, filing of criminal charges, court appearances, police assistance, animal bite investigations and livestock attack investigations. In addition, it provides animal lost and found service, pet behavior advise, shelter medicine and treatment service, dog licensing service, pet therapy and maintenance and cleanliness services for dogs. Franklin County Dog Shelter works in collaboration with the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Ohio State University to provide required treatment and surgery services for the animals.
