      Commerce Refuse-to-Energy Facility produces electricity for more than 20,000 homes in Southern California. Founded in 1987, it is one of the leading refuse-to-energy plants in the world. The facility also offers destruction services for documents and materials. Commerce Refuse-to-Energy Facility operates seven days a week. It provides waste recycling and composition solutions. The facility is a recipient of the Environmental Protection Award from the Power magazine. Commerce Refuse-to-Energy Facility is a part of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, which offers a range of wastewater and solid waste management services. The parent organization consists of over 20 independent districts and serves nearly 5.5 million individuals in Los Angeles County in California.
