Established in 1932, Davis Cartage was founded when Maurice R. Davis borrowed $700 from his grandfather, purchased a Chevrolet truck and began hauling sugar beets from Fairgrove, Mich., to the mill in Caro, Mich. The company has grown to include more than 120 employees at two different facilities and a fleet of approximately 80 trucks. The company s services include truckload, less than truckload, warehousing, 8 Axle, consolidation, ISO certified parts inspection, Florida transportation and cross-dock. Its service area is Michigan and its bordering states: Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Davis Cartage also travels to Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada. Davis Cartage maintains its headquarters in Corunna, Mich.
