General Info
Dr. Pamela G. Hamilton is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Texas A&M College of Medicine-Dallas Campus, and teaches Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive, and Trauma Related Stress Disorders in the Thorntree Psychiatric Associates based Texas A&M Medical Student Psychiatric clinical clerkship. Dr. Hamilton began her undergraduate studies at University of Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Distinction before completing her Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her Psychiatry Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. She later served a clinical instructor in the University of Oklahoma Department of Psychiatry teaching in the Advanced Psychopharmacology course for senior residents. She is certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is the Managing Partner for Thorntree Psychiatric Associates. She has been in active clinical psychiatric practice in Dallas for 34 years and served as the Director of the Adult Psychiatry Unit at the Haven Behavioral Hospital in DeSoto Texas. During this period, she also served as psychiatrist consultant and liaison to community physicians for education and the treatment of psychiatric disorders in women. Dr. Hamilton practices General Adult Psychiatry. Her practice includes the treatment of Mood Disorders (Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder) Anxiety Disorders Post Traumatic Stress Disorders Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Adjustment Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders.
