- Corporate LawRandall M. Case is a specialist in the areas of natural resource and corporate law, and has over twenty-five years' experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Case represents oil and gas companies of all sizes, in matters related to the acquisition, development, and operation of oil and gas properties. His corporate practice includes business formation, acquisition, and other related transactional matters. Mr. Case has been actively involved in the legal education programs of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. He has chaired the program committee responsible for establishing the Foundation's annual week-long short course on federal oil and gas law and has chaired the Foundation's special institute dealing with the 1987 amendments to the federal oil and gas leasing statutes. Mr. Case was a member of the faculty of the federal oil and gas course for several years and has been one of the Foundation's annual institute speakers. He has also served as a trustee of the Foundation since 1981, and was the Foundation's president from 1989-1990. Mr. Case attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and the United States Naval Academy, where he obtained a B.S. degree in 1965. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1973, after serving as a nuclear submarine officer in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1970. Mr. Case is admitted to practice law in Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming. He is a member of the American, Colorado, Wyoming, and Denver Bar Associations, the Natural Resources & Energy Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and the Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen.

- Estate PlanningStephen M. Thompson practices in the areas of natural resources, tax, trusts and estates, and corporate law. He specializes in business transactions and tax law, with an emphasis on the oil and gas industry. He serves as counsel to business enterprises, primarily in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Thompson has extensive experience in structuring oil and gas ventures, including entity formation, exploration agreements and operating agreements. Mr. Thompson is a former adjunct professor of law in the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program. Mr. Thompson is a 1971 graduate of Princeton University, where he graduated cum laude with an A.B. degree in Economics. He received his J.D. degree in 1974, and his L.L.M. degree in Taxation in 1978, from the University of Denver College of Law. Mr. Thompson is admitted to practice law in Colorado, Wyoming and before the United States Tax Court. A former Chairman of the Mineral Section of the Colorado Bar Association, he is a member of the Denver, Colorado, Wyoming and American Bar Associations and the Natural Resources & Energy Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.

Mr. Swartzendruber’s practice also includes the representation of operators and non-operators in contested oil and gas commission matters, access disputes, oil and gas mechanic’s lien foreclosures, royalty payment actions, and the development of public lands. In addition, he assists his clients in transactions relating to mineral development, including purchase and sale agreements, surface use agreements, farmout agreements, joint operating agreements and pooling agreements.
