AMAZING trip on a steam train through the mountains to Silverton, season permitting. We took an early Spring journey that turns around part way to Silverton due to snow pack further up the line, but the scenery and experience is wonderful. Closed cars keep the ash from the engine off of you, but the open cars are optimal for sightseeing.

This is the "must-do" in Durango! The minute you get to the depot, you are transported back in time to an era that is laid-back and simple...relaxing! The ride to Silverton is gorgeous, Colorado at it's best. The staff are friendly and can answer any questions you throw at them. This was our fifth time to ride the Silverton/Durango Train. Awesome!
