Fantastic view of the CT River from the balcony. Great food. Fish items are a bit salty, but everything else is spot on. Awesome place to go during the summer.
Looks nice, but tasteless food. I've had better experiences elsewhere. Recommend eating either across the street, even Haddam pizza would be a better experience. Awful people, non welcoming.
owner arrogant and rude. poor customer service, poor food quality...the only thing it has going for it
is the view and the outside bar area; but a restaurant cannot survive on view alone; they need good food/good service
and above all; a pleasant and friendly attitutude, which they are sorely lacking!!!
I did visit the Gelston House,a few times,and i always enjoyed.I dine out with my family tree times a week,and i always like to try different restaurants but when we talk about the GELSTON HOUSE its something else,this people make you feel more then home,the service is fantastic the food is very very good and every time i go there its like 300 people, they got great music every weekend,that patio known as Beer Garden makes you feel like you are somewhere in islands, I strongly reecomend this place,,
The seating provided a romantic setting. The dinning room was all glass showing the beautiful shrubs and trees and manicured grounds that surrounded the flowing river. To top off the majestic scene, the food and wine were fabulous. The service was genuine, cheerful and enticing to come back!
