Today I had Ace Chimney perform a chimney reline. The service people were Holt and I think Don. At this point I will give them one star, I tried to get my issue resolved with Stephanie but was disappointed in her response. I am however waiting for a follow up from them.
They arrived on time. The first issue was that they did not wear booties and track some dirt in, no biggie, I had to vacuum today anyway. They went to work and finish quicker than I anticipated. When they were done they told me and said go ahead and take a look. I went down to the chimney and there was bright shined new pipe with the old barometric gas damper on it. Unfortunately I had paid for a new damper. I also noticed debris from the work they had performed. I pointed this out to Don and was told he would clean it up. We paid and they left. Later on when I went back down in the basement low and behold the debris were not cleaned up.
As soon as I saw this I called and spoke to Stephanie. I felt like I was being given the run around. First I was asked why I didn’t call earlier, we’ll I called as soon as I noticed they did not clean up after themselves for a second time. I did not realize that I was dealing with kindergarteners that I had to follow up with multiple times. I thought I hired a professional company that would clean up the mess they created while performing the job. Next Stephanie tries to tell me that cleaning up after themselves was not included in the bid. Again I would think professionals would clean up after themselves and it should be standard and not something that has to be written in the contract.
Really in my mind what should have happened was “oh sorry about that, we will send someone out at my (the customer’s convenience”. Unfortunately it was not handled that way. So the sloppiness combines with the old parts being used yet I was charged for the new parts makes me question the professionalism of Ace Chimney.
As I said I am waiting for a follow up call, although it should have been addressed first when I pointed it out to the technician second when I spoke to Stephanie but it wasn’t. In the event they make this right I will post an update here. Until then double check everything to ensure that you get what you paid for and the workmanship and professionalism isn’t shoddy.

He arrived very promptly, worked efficiently and answered the numerous questions we had about our fireplace. He knew we needed a manual for our fireplace and was helpful in reassuring us we could obtain one on line. Both the model number and brand name of the fireplace - items not easily seen by us prior to the visit- were clearly written on our invoice and we now have downloaded the correct model number manual. The fireplace looks and works great, and he cleaned up totally and completely after his work was done. This company was recommended to us by a family member....now we have a second recommendation to add. Ace Chimney Sweeps will definitely be the ones we call for all future fireplace needs.

Service technician Frank did a terrific job. He was thorough, explained everything, answered our concerns, and was courteous and professional. He spent almost 2 hours doing the inspection and cleaning, and then he made sure that everything was set to the manufacturer's specs.We would definitely use this company again.

Terrible customer service. They arrived nearly two hours early. We were not home. They reached us by cell and we agreed to come home. They agreed to wait for us. They left. We called and they would not return either immediately or at the original appointment time. If you value your time, do not work with thus business. We will not be rescheduling.

Frank T. was a very professional. He took his time to make sure everything in the gas fireplace was working properly. He asked for the manual to place the logs back correctly. This was the first time anyone has asked for the manual. And it seems that the flame is much higher. Everything was left very clean.

Our gas fireplace had been out of commission for quite some time. Frank was very meticulous in his work to service our fireplace, and took the time to explain everything he was doing. When the fireplace was up and working, he was not satisfied with how the flames were coming together, and took it apart and rebuilt it so that it would be more efficient. He took great pride in his work and our fireplace is working very well.

I called several other companies prior to calling Ace Chimney Sweeps. Ace was the only company that either ansered or returned my call. The phone representative was very helpful and accommodating and explained the length of time needed for service, what was included and the price. When Frank T. arrived, he was on time, professional and took care to keep the area clean. He was also very knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and why. He took the time to explain my options but there was no pressure to purchase anything more than was needed. Frank took pictures and measurements, however, in case I should decide to upgrade or make changes in the future, so that he would be able to do so over the phone rather than requiring additional visits. He also offered advice and suggestions when appropriate. I would definitely use Ace Chimney Sweeps again and would also recommend them to friends.
