Consumer's Original Complaint :This owner did not do the work promised and took my check for materials only and never came back to finish the work!Mr. Hodge the owner and licensed plumber bid in person on extending my natural gas line to include install of the gas line and of the free standing gas stove and include the extension of the gas line to my barbeque for Initially $750.00. He said he didn't have any estimates with him but would email it to me in the next few days but I never got it. He was to do the work the 1st week in October. Several times a week until the week before Thanksgiving he would schedule, then not show up, call reschedule, call and say he was doing another job, and kept putting me off. Then one day 1st week in November he called to say his was on his way and was suppose to bring 70-75 feet of natural gas pipe and do the install but when he arrived only brought 3-22feet of pipe and not able to finish the job. He then said he needed a check for $350 for materials, I wrote the check because I believed him he would be back to finish the job that went from $750-950. He said he could not find his notes from when he quoted $750 and could not do the whole job for $750. He was disorganized and had a papernotebook with appts scribbled in every direction and did not have the price he originally quoted me. He took my check and never came back and never called after I called him. I called the Home Depot in Evergreen and they stated he goes there regularly to get supplies and the price for the Natural Gas Line is $22 per 10ft of pipe! So, he not only lied but feel he stole my money and I am a Senior Citizen on a fixed budget! I told him I would file a complaint with the BBB, DORA and any other web site but he never called back. I told him in a voice mail that he either refund my check for $350.00 or come back and finish the job. None of my phone calls were returned. I feel he stole my money. I don't have the original quote but I do have the paperwork for the Higher amount. He left me stranded, without additional heat for the winter and I was not as warm as I would have liked for the winter. Consumer's Desired Resolution:He needs to either refund the money he stole from me or he needs to complete the job at what he originally quoted me
