The problems I experienced there was the center bent over backwards for the older folks who come in the a.m. and ignored the needs of the OBESE and evening patrons. Since Flint is one of the highest in obesity and Hurley is a hospital fitness center you'd think they'd be doing something about Flint's youth obesity. NOT. Maybe if the obese kids weren't black, inner city & could afford the expensive membership they'd be proactive. This place is not about community. It's about catering to a bunch of old white people. Two of their employees are NOT qualified but say they're trainers. They're personal training is nil. The trainers stand around gossiping and ignore the members who need help. I don't mind paying for training (which they advertise) but when I tried several times to get one I was told no one was available for months. The only trainer that they suggest is Nancy Norris and she is never there. I was a member for awhile but opted to go outside Flint to a nicer gym that cares about their members health not their pocket book. Genesys Athletic Club is more expensive but at least they have diversity among trainers and the trainers are available all the time. Don't waste your money here.
