General Info
Here at Au Lac the compassion manifests itself in the attention to detail that goes into every dish we want to cultivate an atmosphere where people come together to create a center of gravity pulsating with love, harmony, and health. We opened our doors in 1996 and introduced our Vegan RAW cuisine in 2001. The concept of the restaurant is we honor the arrival of every guest, treat each as our friend to honor the humanese concept, and anyone representing Au Lac is eager to present the two kitchens and have a chance to serve a delicious meal. It's a unique meal in that there are only plant-based, unprocessed and organic ingredients. Vegan-Living is our style of dining but also a lifestyle you can feel. Here at Au Lac the compassion manifests itself in the attention to detail that goes into every dish we want to cultivate an atmosphere where people come together to create a center of gravity pulsating with love, harmony, and health. Speaking as a fairly hard-core meat eater, this place is a very good vegetarian restaurant. I thought that I would be disgusted with the tofu knock-off meat, but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend it to vegetarians or adventurous meat eaters like myself.
I've been to Quintessence and Carnival of Dreams in New York, Roxanne's (When it was open) in Larkspur, Caf Gratitude and Millenium in San Francisco, Karyn's Raw and Karyn's Cooked in Chicago, Cilantro live, and Rancho's in San Diego, studied at The Tree of Life in Patagonia Arizona with Gabriel Cousens, and this restaurant is by far the most soul nourishishing, delicious, life enhancing, spiritually uplifting, lovingly prepared raw vegan cuisine anywhere. the chef at the restaurant has taken a spiritual vow of silence, and you can feel his presence in the amazing energy of the food in every bite. The Green tower and the chocoholic shake are two of my favorites.
