we just moved to town and went to look for a pet. the owner-manager was just as negative as in the review from 2009. overpriced containers and not listening to customers needs is hurting this business. I see people walk in and walk out with nothing. I went there twice because I really wanted this frog or even some nice fish. Everything I mentioned such the care I took of a reptile or fish was not correct according to the manager his way was the only correct pay. they should let someone else with a better attitude that wants to make sales to those with wonderful homes for pets. I miss having a pet especially since we are unable to conceive. The store has so much potential under proper management. I wish them the best and hope the reviews help make it better.

Poorly run operation with lacking customer service. Attitudes of store personnel are surprising for a retail operation. I went in recently to purchase feeder mice and was told I could only have a portion of the requested amount since a small shipment came in, which is understandable. A store manager went on to say he had been running out for the last few weeks and couldn't figure out why, and if I needed more mice I would have to pre order weekly so he didn't have to clean the rodent cage a third time. I will go somewhere else where they understand supply and demand and run a business with customer service in mind. I would have to say some of the staff is pretty knowledgeable in the pets they carry but getting waited on is rough at times.

This is a very unique place of business, because Rick knows his stuff and he isn't going to sell you anything if you don't know anything. Some people take offense to this, that's because they don't know what the they are talking about.Rick doesn't want you to buy something, take it home and let it die.I found Rick's in 1983 and did business with him up until I moved out of state back in 1996.Service was great and I tell everyone I know to go there.

Great selection of fish, lizards & snakes. Staff is always helpful and much more knowledgable then the staffs at other area pet stores. Small selection of birds, primarily parrots.
