Terrible Service

My wife brought her car there for a very specific problem. The accelerator was racing out of control. It was literally trying to push her into the car in front of her as it accelerated out of control.



Once she arrived, the car stopped doing that but the mechanic went for a drive with her and she explained it to him. He told her he knew exactly what it was and could take care of it that day. He changed the motor mounts and the tie rod ends. He charged us $1,000 for WORK THAT DID NOT NEED DONE! He did nothing to the engine at all and didn't seem to even look at it.



There was a warning light on, yet they never tested or even put a scan tool on the the engine to see what the problem was. As soon as she left it did it again. I went out to meet her because the car was dangerous to drive. I took it back to them again. It didn't do it again so we left it with them for a few days so they could diagnose the REAL problem. They drove it several times but again still never put their scan tool on it.



After all of this, I picked it up and took it to a small shop that seemed to care. He put a scan tool on it and within 2 minutes had it correctly diagnosed. The solution was a simple part that cost $75 to replace.



So, thinking Rivertown Honda would want to make this right, I spoke to the General Manager. He pulled the parts manager into the conversation so they could together convince me that they did no wrong. They had no intention of working to resolve this problem, only to convince me I was wrong.



If you do go there, use extreme caution. If you go there with a flat tire they might well sell you a new bumper and send you and your flat tire back out on the road!



I learned my lesson.

NEVER AGAIN!

Brought my car in for the recall on the passenger airbag, they told me expect a two hour time frame for the inflator fix, I was out of there in two hours.

Absolutely the best service department anywhere. I drive from Comstock Park to Grandville because of the service I receive there. Service manager, Dwayne, goes above and beyond to take care of customers.

I had a very pleasant experience at River Town Honda. I worked with Terry who knew a lot about the Honda Civic in which I was interested. He and the finance manager were very helpful and did what they could to get me the best deal they could. I also received more for my trade-in than I expected to. I highly recommend River Town Honda to anyone looking to buy a new or used vehicle.

My sales associate was very kind and friendly. He handled all of my questions and concerns in a timely manner. There are still a couple of things that need to be fixed but are being handled. The finance department was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I am also happy to have such a great repair department to look after my new car. I appreciate honesty. Overall a very good experience. And, I love my new car. Thank you.

Being only a GM car owner my whole life looking outside that comfort zone for our new car was difficult for me. That being said the moment we walked into Rivertown Honda we felt welcomed and valued. We worked with Jon Yaklin if you are at all thinking about looking for a car be sure to ask for him. He took the time to answer our questions about the Honda CRV and explain things in detail. One of the things we appreciated the most is that he allowed us the time and freedom to make the choice in our time and was not pushy at all. In addition to Jon every employee that we came into contact with at Rivertown was also very helpful and kind. It was refreshing to walk into a dealership and feel like you walked into a friends home and not into a place that looked at you just as another number. Because of our experience with Jon at Rivertown Honda and because of the quality of the CRV we are now a part of the "Honda" family. Thank you Jon and Everyone at Rivertown Hona again for everything!

Very nice dealership - large selection and good prices. Salesman was extremely low pressure and provided quick answers to all my requests. The entire purchase experience was pleasant and the final paperwork on trade day went very quickly (about 1 hr). The only minor flaw I noted was the quality of the service inspection they perform on their trade-ins. The vehicle I purchased was 5 yrs old and when I took it for a test drive the salesman told me their service department does an 89 point inspection on all trades, however I noticed a very bad noise coming from the front right during the test drive - we had the service tech go for a test drive and they diagnosed the noise as a bad wheel bearing -- the dealership ultimately agreed to replace the wheel bearing prior to pickup at not cost to me. I'm not sure why they didn't catch that issue during their inspection prior to putting the vehicle up for sale? Otherwise, entire experience was pleasant and I would do business with them again.

Casey Korenstra and Joe Clift are amazing. I would definitely recommend Rivertown Honda to everyone. Especially if your a single lady such as myself and don't want to be taken advantage of, I can honestly say they look out for your best interest and are not there to break your bank and let you off the lot with a lemon.

IWe bought a used Kia from River Town Honda. They really came through for us, helping us with financing. Our previous car had just broke down a day prior and we thought We'd be walking all winter, so we are really happy to have a replacement that is much nicer than my old car! We were shocked when they said they would pick us up and drive us to the dealership, 80 miles away! They are a great bunch of people and they really outdid themselves making sure we'd get into this car quickly, and they are courteous beyond any other business. Thank you Brad and Laura! We will definitely want to do business there again.

Dealership/my sales person (Laura Gabriel): fantastic! Worked with me to get me the car I wanted at an acceptable price, offered me options for financing, delivered a pristine, gassed up vehicle, taught me how to set up the screens (no small feat!) and generally was wonderful. Great job!
