- GlaucomaGlaucoma is a potentially blinding condition where the pressure in your eye damages your optic nerve. Â Since the optic nerve carries the vision from your eyes to your brain, any damage to the optic nerve can be serious. Â Fortunately, glaucoma can be successfully treated and controlled if it is found before it causes the damage to your optic nerve. Â At SureVision Eye Centers, every time you come for an eye check-up, we measure your eye pressure and look to see if there are any signs of damage to your optic nerve.
- OphthalmologyCOA/COT certification is preferred but we’re willing to train staff who possess a background in optometry or ophthalmology and aren’t yet certified! Our physicians count on these staff members to gather detailed histories, perform preliminary testing and accurately chart our patients’ needs.
- Laser Eye SurgeryWe chose the name SureVision because that’s how we feel about our care for your eyes. Our medical staff is second to none regarding knowledge, skill, and experience. - CataractsCataracts are a clouding of the natural lens of the eye. Â The natural lens is located inside of the eye directly behind the colored part of the eye known as the iris. Â The purpose of the natural lens is to provide the focusing power of the eye so that images are seen clearly. Â We are typically born with a clear natural lens, but normal aging of the lens causes it to become cloudy and more yellow or brown in color. Â This change typically happens slowly over time and leads to progressively worsening vision.
- Cataract SurgeryWhile cataracts are one of the leading causes of blindness on Earth, this blindness is preventable through regular visits with your eye care professional and cataract surgery once your cataract become visually significant.
- Eye ExamDry eye disease can be diagnosed by your eye care professional. But since there are so many causes of dry eye disease, many general eye doctors don’t have the time or equipment to perform the detailed testing and analysis that it takes to determine the cause of your condition.  That results in your getting instructions to use artificial tears without details of why you need them, how often you need them, or which formula of drops would be best for your particular condition.  A thorough history/questionnaire, a comprehensive eye exam, and specialized testing can help lead to a diagnosis and discover the underlying causes of your condition. From there, a proper dry eye care plan can be put into place to address your needs and the best dry eye treatment in Creve Coeur and Alton to relieve your troubles.

- Diabetic RetinopathyDiabetic retinopathy occurs when the blood vessels in your retina are damaged from high blood sugar levels over long periods of time. Your eye doctor can see these when your eye is dilated for a retinal examination, but at SureVision Eye Centers we can take a laser digital photo of your retina, even without dilating your pupil. Â This allows you to actually see where the blood vessels are affected, and we can email a copy of these photos to your diabetes doctor, or even to you for your medical records. Â Just ask for an Optomap on each visit.

- Reconstructive SurgeryThere are lots of successful ways to treat glaucoma. Â At SureVision Eye Centers, our glaucoma experts have a wide range of options to eliminate or control glaucoma. Â For some, it may just be an eyedrop. Â For others, there is laser surgery that can be done in our offices, or in combination with cataract surgery. Â When glaucoma is particularly severe there is reconstructive surgery that we can use to add a new drainage channel to lower the eye pressure to a safe level.
