New to Great Falls, needed to find a dry cleaner. Tried Falls Cleaner and Laundry first. Took in 5 items. When picked them up, they all had an odd smell, more like body odor than any cleaning fluid I have ever experienced. Worse than that, the cashmere sweater (never worn, took tags off it while standing at counter) and Tommy Bahama men's pants (90% silk, 10% cotton, $138) were awful. The coral colored sweater looked like it had been cleaned with something dark blue or green-it had fuzz all over it, especially in the seams. The pants had 4 palm-sized splotches on them. Looked like they had been dropped in a mud puddle, then ironed (so the soil was now heat-set into the fabric). I didn't look at them at the counter, rather when I got home and was hanging them up. I called immediately and they told me to bring the pants and sweater back in. I did, showing them the issues. When I went back to pick up, the sweater was better, but still had discoloration, and the pants still had visible staining so the manager offered to run them again. On my third trip back, I was told what had happened was the electricity had gone out and the pants had laid in the machine overnight. There was still one pretty visible stain, so she offered to run them again - the sweater also still had discoloration. On my fourth trip back, the pants STILL had visible stains. The sweater was better, but not in the condition that it was when I dropped off the first time. The employee was very unsympathetic. I asked if they were going to compensate me in some way, and her response was "I don't know what condition they were in when you dropped them off". I told her they had been run several times since there was an issue, and she just kept repeating herself, that she "didn't know what condition . . . " Moral of the story: I got to pay them to ruin over $200 of clothing, and they "Don't know what condition they were in when dropped off". Why are dry cleaners especially sleazy and never take accountability?
