Ben and his crew transformed our backyard from weed central to a beautiful, family friendly backyard oasis. We have been pushing off this project for years because it seemed so overwhelming. Ben made it easy. He did all the measuring and then designed, drew and implemented his amazing vision. We have a challenging yard with lots of shade and a Walnut tree. With Ben's help we were able to pick out plants that can grow under a Walnut tree and still got exactly the look we wanted.



I loved the budget-conscious suggestion to re-use and conserve some of our plants and our existing stones and pavers. You would never know we did, though, because our yard is completely re-arranged in a way that is usable, practical, AND beautiful. I can now see the kids play from the house, smell the flowers while sitting on an even, sturdy patio, and get from the gate to the house without getting muddy. Thank you, Ben !



Armed with a customized watering schedule and the knowledge that Ben is only a phone call away, we are ready to enjoy our backyard for years to come.

We had Prestige Landscape & Design redo the landscaping on 3 sides of our house after having met them at the Lansing Home and Garden Show in 2011. They were excellent and we wanted to write this recommendation to encourage others to seek their help.



Our yard had landscaping but it didn't have very desirable plantings nor was it attractive. We also had a steep hill on one side of the house which ended in the backyard in a mature tree area. Water would collect there, although it would dissipate quickly. We knew that we needed some major hard structural work before we could think about landscaping. We wanted to include a stone pathway down the hill leading into a patio area and ultimately remove all grass from the hill. Overall, the look we wanted was natural, informal, and a little English gardenish with ground cover and perrenial plants and flowering bushes.



We are mature home owners who like to do things ourselves but with this project we needed help. I'm sure we were not the easiest people to work with because of our taste and visions, but John and Ben really listened to us and the project took shape on paper and then in our yard.



Our yard is beautiful now with all the pavers (patio), stone walkway (down the steep hill), small pergola over the walkout door, hand constructed lattice work (under the second floor deck), and handmade trellises on the side of the house. The front of the house received a paver walkway, pavers that cover the concrete porch, and new beds and plantings. I mention these things because this is the type of structural work they can do.



We enjoyed working with Prestige and seeing our vision come true. To shorten this we will list the things we liked and that you can expect, too.



1) They really listen to you and try to give you what you want. If you don't know what you want, they give good suggestions within your vision and budget.



2) They work really hard, are quiet, and are very pleasant to have around. That's good because they are your yard friends for life. They come back to help with any and all things related to the work they do.



3) They stay within budget but since it is a "work in progress" they keep you informed and discuss any changes and how they will impact the budget.



4 They are really plant conservationists and helped save what existing plantings that they could. They really love plants and want your plants to have the best conditions possible. They like to work with deer resistant plants and bushes.



5) They picked out beautifully shaped bushes and trees and paid attention to bloom times and colors.



6) Perhaps foremost they are excellent in soil requirements and add what's needed for optimal growth and health of the plants.



7) They are very neat and clean up each day. They haul all refuse away quickly, and



8) They know and use local resources.



They really were a pleasure to work with in all aspects. We highly recommend them to you as we think you will be pleased, also.
