Ufab is a great store; the location is not that great. However, if they were in Carytown proper their prices would be far higher (I'm sure). I bought several patterns there for work on some furniture, and the prices were competitive. Although, the Richmond store the patterns are mostly discontinued. The customer service was somewhat good, especially one girl (she was great). However, it did get bothersome when returning to the store on a weekly basis to see the same merchandise repeatedly. One employee (a man) who continued saying "next week we'll have a new shipment". I wanted to give them all of my business if possible. Next week never did seem to come, and forced me to go elsewhere for the remainder of my fabric. Whenever, I find a small business it is my policy to give them as much business as possible. Knowing how hard it is for a small business to make it, but the man does not seem to know about shipments & another employee said he is the manager.

This store is WONDERFUL! We just moved to the area and saw it online after trying Calico Corners (really expensive). The selection was fabulous and the staff was very helpful and attentive. I walked out with fabric and a new store I love. I will be going back!

I am in love with U- Fab and with Will (don't tell my husband...JK) but seriously the selection is fabulous for both fabric and trim and Will especially helped with my color coordination and fabric selection. We just moved into a new home and so I had lots of projects and Will and U fab made it both affordable and enjoyable. Thanks U FAB for making an overwhelming job fun!

Richmond is SO lucky to have a store like Ufab - We just moved to Florida and I have a new house to decorate and can't find anything like Ufab here. Making a list and planning a trip back to Richmond to shop. Great store, great buys, great staff. Shop there!

I just had to add one more big thumbs up for U Fab! I found the one in Charlottesville recently when I was ready to start decorating our house, and has really helped get that process moving into full gear. I have found the selection of fabrics to be fantastic, the prices terrific, and the owner to be incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with. So happy to have a store like this in town. The owner did call me and offered the suggestion of woolite and dawn to clean the furniture. He also offered a tech to come out and spot clean the furniture which was appreciated. Unable to delete the previous review but I did tell him that I would alter my review now that he has been helpful.

Experience from beginning to end with delivery was very difficult. It was obvious there was no communication with richmond and the cville staff. Simple question asked what they recommended to clean the piece of furniture. They had nothing to offer after paying over a thousand dollars.

Was looking for fabric to recover some old bar stools. Came in with the cushion, a paint swatch, and an idea. Left a happy customer. Spent less than $3 and got enough to cover both stools. Very helpful and creative staff. Definitely recommend for all your fabric needs. Large, diverse selection at very good prices.

My decorator wanted us to use a local upscale store to supply us with the fabric we needed for window treatments. Luckily I learned of U-Fab in time because they saved us $30 a yard!! Over the phone and through U-Fab's "contact us" section on their web site, I had the pleasure of working with Travis to locate and order the fabric. Travis was professional, responsive (called back when he said he would) and he could not have been kinder (not arrogant or tempermental like some of these decorator types can be). This store is a hidden gem - please support them!

I know u-fab doesn't technically make slipcovers but I challenged them to do so when I brought in 2 seat cushions from my sofa. U-fab took the measurements and I took the cushions home against there suggestion. Not only are the covers show quality workmanship, but they fit beautifully! I can't thank them enough! Not my pooches can climb on the sofa all they want and I won't be worried about dirt and hair!

I just discovered this store in Richmond. I would highly recommend it. They have a large selection, reasonable prices and the salesgirl that helped me could not have been nicer or more helpful. I will definitely be back!

I have been to the new Charlottesville twice now. Both times I have found very nice fabric that I was looking for. I purchased a fabric to make valances and later found the exact same fabric at a local fabric store for at least $20/yard more. Wow! I am impressed and can't wait to visit the Richmond Store.

Great to have such a store in the Fan. Had been everywhere looking for a color that isn't "in" right now and found it in the $2.99 remnants. Very helpful staff. Will spread the word of this newly found treasure of a store to my friends.

I lived in California for 9 years and purchased most of my fabric in the LA Fabric District. Moving East, I was driving to NC to buy discount fabric. I found U-FAB on the internet and I'll never take that trip again. The quality and prices are equal to LA. The Staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Give them your color choice and they will even look for a fabric on their shopping trips. Thank you Mike and Travis for opening your store.

Went in to get some fabric to make a bed for my daughter. Thought I knew what I wanted when I walked in. Sales staff was really helpful and patient and led me to a fabric I hadn't considered. It was THE ONE. Great selection, awesome remnants, and friendly place to be. Wish they had more parking, but that won't stop me from going again!

They took time and gave me detailed direction in fabric selection and steps as to make the piece look amazing.
