General Info

As a full-time clinician in pediatric intensive care, I attended inpatient service in the PICU 8-10 weeks per year, took overnight call 3-5 nights per month, and covered the Sedation & Procedure Service 3-6 days per month for a total clinical commitment of 16-22 weeks per year depending on faculty coverage and service divisions. Upon appointment as Medical Director in 2014, I was granted 20% protected time for administrative duties, reducing my clinical shifts from 18 weeks to 15 weeks per year. As Medical Director, I was responsible for the daily clinical operations of the PICU and was present in or near the unit a minimum of five days a week for the entirety of my appointment.
