Let our friendly and knowledgeable staff welcome you to our Howell Donor Center. This space features free Wi-Fi access, delicious snacks and drinks after your donation, and free on-site parking! Founded in 1964, the New York Blood Center (NYBC) is a non-profit organization and one of the world's largest independent, community-based blood centers. Serving over 75 million people in 17 states, NYBC collects, manufactures, tests, and distributes millions of units of blood products annually to nearly 600 hospitals nationally. NYBC Enterprises (NYBCe) extends beyond blood collection and distribution. Through specialized divisions like Comprehensive Cell Solutions, the National Center for Blood Group Genomics, and the National Cord Blood Program, NYBCe offers a wide range of transfusion-related medical services to over 500 hospitals nationwide. The Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute (LFKRI), part of NYBCe, boasts a rich history of scientific innovation in blood science. LFKRI is known for developing a practical screening method for hepatitis B, a safe, effective, and affordable vaccine for the disease, and a revolutionary solvent detergent plasma process that has transformed blood purification technology worldwide.
