I've been going Dr. Micki Ly for years. She's very competent and kind and is an outstanding dermatologist. I find her office very clean and her and her staff are extremely professional. I'll recommend her to all my friends and family..

If I could give her a 0 I would. DO NOT GIVE HER ANY OF YOUR MONEY! Both she and the receptionist are incredibly rude. I was there at 9:55 for a 10am appointment and there were 2 people already waiting. After 1 went in I asked if she was running late and I was told 3 people were ahead of me. I was appalled and asked why they stacked appointments like that. Then, within 5 minutes I was suddenly told to go to a back room (I guess because I complained). The back room should be called a horror room. There was supplies piled up everywhere, it was cluttered and felt very unclean. I felt gross just sitting in there. I felt like I was in some sort of underground illegal or 3rd world country clinic. I actually took pictures I was so horrified I was in a Dr.'s office. She came in and spent 30 seconds looking at my scalp and then wanted to rerun blood tests that I had just had done. She didn't examine me or ask me any pertinent questions about my condition. I was stunned. Before I left, I told her that the condition of her office felt very unclean and unprofessional. Her answer was, "so you don't want to come back." I said, what I would like is a clean dr.'s office. I called my insurance company and complained about her and advised them not to pay for the visit.

Very poor level of care. Dr Ly only cares about the profitability of her business, she does not care about patients' well being at all. She is a good business woman, but I would not call her a doctor. I closed my account there and am going to other dermatologist where I would be treated like a human not like a piece of machine or cattle.

Poor patient care from a doctor who wants to make lots of money fast with little care of her patients. I was reprimanded for wanting a full body scan for skin cancer and saw her for 5 minutes and then sent out the door. She was rude. I'm a 72 year old who takes a medication, which is known to put me at high risk for skin cancer. I would never use her as my regular dermatologist.

Dr.Ly is a money hungry, self absorbed, sorry excuse for a physician. I saw her for tattoo removal on my lower back about a year ago. The first visit she was extremely unprofessional when I told her that the laser was terribly painful, she replied to me "you got the tattoo, didn't you?" and then she asked me if I had ever experienced child birth!!!! I stopped her in her tracks, as I am a registered nurse and know poor bedside manner when I see it. I reminded her that pain is subjective and as a patient I have rights. She was a little stunned with my come back. Then at that time, she asked me if I wanted to take a break and she would return to finish the treatment, to which I said yes. Hello!!!??!!

She could have used Lidocaine jelly or lidocaine injections at the site before the treatment but she did not. I went back for one additional laser tattoo removal treatment and now I have permanent scarring. I believe she had the laser cranked up to the highest setting and now my skin shows the damage of her carelessness. Being on Maui, there are limited options for tattoo removal. I have not filed a law suit but I probably should. I also should have asked around my fellow co-workers before I stepped foot into her office; had I done that, I would have discovered that many others have had horrible experiences or had heard of bad treatment by this physician. The reason I went to her was that she was the first dermatologist that appeared on my google search. I really can not in good faith believe the high ratings on yelp for her. I have a funny feeling that she wrote them herself under bogus yelp accounts... Seriously! After living on Maui for 4 years, I have not heard good things about her. Please please please, go to someone other than her. She has one thing in mind and it is your money going into her tight little fist. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Unlike many other doctors i have seen my wait time in the lobby was very minimal and the appointment process was very simple and quick.

Being a long time patient of Aloha Dermatology. I love the efficiency and affordability that they provide. They are conveniently located in Kahului Near Walmart and Home Depot. Getting an appointment scheduled is very quick and painless. Not only are they one of the very few dermatology centers located on Maui, I think they are on of the best i have ever been to.
