Lowe's has really gone down hill. The tool selection is embarrassing and the customer service is terrible. I was trying to find a specialty tool and went through three employees before I found one who knew what I was talking about and he informed me that they don't carry them...ten minutes later I found one. I asked a different guy about the possibility of ordering a variation on the folding rules that they carry. He and the employee standing next to him didn't seem to believe that the variation existed. One even asked where I had seen one before. Then, clearly trying to get me to go away, they both insisted that the original ruler was the only thing they carried. So, I asked if they could order one for me. The senior employee responded "I wouldn't know what to type in the computer." The he just stared at me. He didn't try to find someone else to help me, he didn't make any suggestions, he just stared at me. This is completely unacceptable.

Spent over an hour waiting to pickup a carpet order that I called ahead the night before. Isn't the first time customer service was terrible.

I would give this store another star just because of the sheer magnitude of the choice of merchandise. However, if you are in need of assistance it becomes a very time consuming effort to find it or a long walk to the front desk. There are some call buttons in some departments but overall, getting and receiving qualified customer service is not easily done. It is a great store for the variety of merchandise but they need to improve on service.
