I was quoted a price of $175 for a new lamp shade. I went to another downriver shop and bought a beautiful shade for $50. T

My wife and I needed to replace an outdated lampshade but had no luck with chain stores. We decided to try Michael's and are happy we did. They had a wide variety of styles and sizes in stock, (but can special order if necessary), their prices are fair and their customer service is exemplary. The moment we put the new shade on the lamp it was intended for we knew we made the right decision. I highly recommend them if you are in the market for a new lamp or lampshade. (It appears as though they do a lot of business repairing customers' existing lamps too.)

I was so impressed by the quality of the customer service at this lamp shop. The owners, Michael & Mel, offer the kind of customer care that seems long forgotten. They went the extra mile in fixing a problem with a fixture, even going so far as to contact the manufacturer directly for me and arrange a replacement! The variety of lamps and shades is large (and unique) and Judy was very friendly in greeting customers. This is just the sort of business one should support, as it has the personalized service that you could never get at a "big box store."
