      General Info
      Southwest Oklahoma Blood Institute, founded in 1977, is one of the leading blood centers in the United States. It provides a selection of health services and programs and specialized medical services for patients and communities. The health center primarily provides blood for patients, and works with blood donors and volunteers. It offers community education to medical leaders, presentations to elementary school children and physicians. Its staff also conducts lectures on various subjects, such as donating blood, basic blood banking, HIV and other blood-borne pathogens and transfusion medicine updates. In addition, it undertakes special community-based projects, funded by area businesses, schools, foundations and individuals. Southwest Oklahoma Blood Institute is located in Lawton, Okla.
