      Fister Distribution Inc., represents a key logistics element in the Fister, Inc., family. Our history speaks volumes to the hard-work and resulting successes of our entire Fister, Inc. team. Vincent Fister, Sr. purchased a small moving company in 1953 that consisted of one truck and a small warehouse on East Third Street in Lexington, KY. The company grew quickly and two years later it became necessary to move a larger and more modern facility located on National Avenue. During the 1960's, further success and growth forced the Company to move back to Third Street into a different and even larger facility. The Company occupied two buildings and ventured into new lines of business such as international household goods relocation, rail car loading and unloading and eventually commercial warehousing. Vincent Fister, Inc. was the first moving and storage company in Central Kentucky to introduce wooden pallet storage containers and "air ride" moving vans to its customers. 1968 was a banner year for the company. It received United Van Lines highest honor for the largest sales increase in the entire United system. That same year, the Company moved into a brand new facility on Palumbo Drive. This 50,000 square foot, state of the art complex built specifically for the household goods moving and storage business was then, and remains today, unmatched in the Commonwealth. An additional 100,000 square foot of commercial storage has since been constructed, which serves as the home for Fister Distribution, Inc., Fister Logistics, Inc., and Off-Site Records Management, Inc. In 1996, Safeway Moving and Storage, Inc. was opened as Lexington's Newest Mayflower agency. Seven years later that company moved to their newly renovated office and warehouse located on Winchester Road and are now the second largest moving and storage company in Lexington. Michael Fister, as Owner and CEO of Fister, Inc., and teams accomplished this strong growth pattern by concentrating and insisting upon providing first class quality service to each and every customer. Today, Fister Inc., consists of Vincent Fister, Inc., Fister Distribution, Inc., Off-Site Records Management, Inc., Fister Logistics, Inc., and Safeway Moving and Storage, Inc. The strength of our business is our employees. Our future is bright.
