I spent time at Barrow Road sober living they call it. It is a poor excuse for living sober, you MUST be sober, these people are nuts, they charge you $800.00 to walk through their mold infested doors and then they expect you to pay $300.00 a WEEK, SO you get a job and if you are off on Saturday you are forced to work their caraway, 100's of people make it by Barrow rd. In L.Rock. Sober Living keeps the money. The "residents " wash the cars. You get NO rest. At 2:00a.m. they may call everyone out of bed to have "group" if someone is caught eating food on their job while still in orientation. Because for 30+ days you are not allowed to eat anything, but what they give you to prepare peanutbutter EVERYDAY for lunch oatmeal, no sugar for breakfast, or toast, old donuts, mystery meat for dinner, who knows what is in the stew. We had to cook all our own meals, but you fixed whatever was set out nothing more. The refrigerator was off limits. Only a vending machine,and none of that either at first. It is rat and mold infested, residents are in charge of residents. Depending on how long you had been there. I just think the state government needs to make several supprise visits to this co-ed place. They try to get people in there by making them think if they stay for 2 years or until court they will sure the Judge gives them time served. BULL. I am so glad I went to work one morning and never went back. They are crooks who SAY they want to help you learn to work and pay bills. I do not have $1200.00-$1500.00 of expences and I have been doing just fine since I left there. I did have to pay for my mistakes, by going to Pine Bluff for 9 months, I enjoyed the time there as I feel I really got treatment, supervised by Clinical Professionals. I am an overcomer, through Christ Jesus and am doing well.I just hope this helps someone to truly get a family member or someone to investigate these private owned places. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY.One of the lead councelors was arrested for D.U.I. while on 3 day pass. He never came back, he had been there 3 years.
